India: Maharashtra (Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, and Nannaj)
Winter Break — $2,700
About the Trip
NPU students get the opportunity to visit HCC’s four destinations in Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, and Nannaj. All of these are located in the Maharashtra state. Our teams interact with children as well as the red-light district. The trip includes extensive cultural engagement and offers nursing students the opportunity to obtain their community health credit, needed for graduation.
Partner: Hindustani Covenant Church (HCC)
Mission Statement:
Join Hindustani Covenant Church Ministries in caring for the poor through education, healthcare and public-health initiatives in urban and rural India. Nursing students qualify for community health credit.
The HCC is present in three regions of India. Their development ministry is known as Covenant Social Services (CSS). Their work is centered in aiding families in financing business ventures, self-advocacy, and vocational skills training. This model of sustainable community development is aiding the people of Maharashtra greatly.
Student Testimony
“My time in India was impactful for me in many ways. I got to explore a new country, grow closer with fellow North Parkers, and witnessed God in a plethora of ways. The major part of this trip is the incredible partnership that North Park University has with the Hindustani Covenant Church (HCC) in India. HCC is doing kingdom work and using their resources to help the communities thrive. HCC has made schools so kids can stop collecting garbage all day. They help women who were prostitutes have a safe place to live, work, and re-experience hope. They also run clinics for people to be healthy. These are just some of the good work that HCC is doing. The India trip will forever be a part of me.”
